Kwemno People

Kwemno are a primative species of humanoids found on several different worlds throughout the universe. Like Hypno Spiders, their original planet of origin is unknown, but their behavior is very different. Kwemno can hunt, but are mostly defensive creatures and primarily gather seeds. Though solitary in the wild, they are known to be very sociable at times.

Having such large eyes allows the Kwemno species to be incredibly observant. It is almost impossible to sneak up on one, but most of the time they don’t care about the presence of larger creatures. Though Kwemno are naturally placid, they can move in fast bursts of speed when necessary; they are able to move efficiently on two legs and on all fours. Their clawed hands and light weight also allow them to easily climb trees, which is their primary getaway in the unlikely event they become truly scared, but this almost never happens.

Kwemno have long flowing “hair” that is made of very small and very sharp fibers. Though harmless to the individual Kwemno and its brethren, the spines can easily make deep cuts in flesh. Even a simple touch is all it takes: the spines are small, incredibly sharp, and densely packed (which gives the hair its “fluffy” appearance). To give a Kwemno a light pat is to impale yourself with multiple tiny needles, and to hug (or maul) it may all but kill. Most creatures have learned to avoid the Kwemno and their bright hair, which is the main reason they are a naturally carefree race. Some of the more eccentric (and hard-shelled) tend to own them as pets. A few attempts have also been made to weaponize them, but most have ended in failure.
